Candidate SKY Lists Stop Returning Results - Filter Inexplicably Added

Earlier this Spring we noticed something odd with our Candidate SKY lists. Sometime in April - when we opened a Candidate list that was previously working - we would get zero results. After rebuilding one of the lists successfully - I began to take a look at what might be different on the SKY list that was no longer working. I discovered that ALL of our Candidate lists suddenly had a filter of “Next Calendar Year” in the 9 Date Range Picker filter options.
Once we go through and remove those nine date range filters - the SKY lists work as expected. Has anyone else run into this?

I reported this issue to Support - and was told “this is the normal way on how the system works.”
Hmmmm.

  • Yep…ran into this problem in April when “Yesterday” was added on the date range filters. Earlier thread below:

(And yes, despite what support says, this was not expected behavior; it was a glitch that popped up and once it's fixed, it won't revert back!)

  • We experienced the same exact thing.

  • Yes, we had the same problem.

  • Thank you for the link Brian. I searched the Forum to see if anyone else had this issue and probably used “SKY List” instead of “Candidate List” in my search.
Now that I know this is happening to everyone in the country - I think we need to ramp up the request to get this fixed - especially since Sarah Bienvenue is saying “That is not the expected behavior”

  • I noticed this only yesterday!

Blackbaud, if you are listening, please FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY. You're wasting valuable customer time!

And….please IMPLEMENT AND RUN A REGRESSION TEST SYSTEM! With any due respect, things like this should NOT break. [or, more accurately, IF broken, should be discovered by a test system before being released to the public! We are not your beta site!]

  • Hi Everyone, the fix is to remove the filters. While we could run a data fix for everyone, it would then re-break the lists for those who have already fixed it. We made the choice not to do that as by the time we tracked down the fix, several customers had already “fixed” it for themselves. I had explained this in another thread and to support, so I'm not sure where the breakdown in communication comes from, but I apologize that the information didn't make it to everyone.

We test all of our work before it goes out, and we also have automated testing, but sometimes bugs slip through. The good news, as Brian mentioned, is that once you remove the filters, everything will work again and will not revert back to the broken state.

    Thank you,

    Sarah
