Hello! One final reminder that tomorrow EMS BBID will be turned on for all EMS schools. This means that any new users who come through the inquiry or apply now option, will need to login with BBID.

We have well over 500 schools who have already opted in. If you have not, I would encourage you to take time today to opt in and complete the set up before we flip the switch tomorrow. The set up isn't hugely difficult, but depending on how your school handles new users, it will be worth it to complete ahead of time. I've attached a document to help.

    @Sarah Bienvenue we are not sending out the invite with the inquiry. We use the standard application and will invite candidates/parents to connect to BBID once an application is received. We set up the notification for EMS BBID invite, but in testing we found that the invite sent is the generic invite under Core > Communication > Notifications > User management > Blackbaud ID invite. How do we enable the EMS notification for candidates and their parents? Thanks!

    @Sarah Bienvenue Thanks for the reminder about this! We set everything up but, even now after its been enforced, the apply login box (domain.myschoolapp.com/app#login/apply) still seems linked to the old legacy login system.

    It works fine if users have a fully created account but, if they don't setup their account at the inquiry stage it creates a problem when they go to apply. The user enters the email address that they used for the inquiry and it doesn't detect that they have an outstanding BBID setup.

    They have to click forgot login, which resets their legacy login. Then, once they have legacy credentials, they can login but that triggers setting up BBID so they have to reset their password twice.

    The other possibility is that they try to create an account, but that results in the system telling them an account with that email address already exists and sends them to the “forgot login” screen, but it's the legacy forgot login screen. This, again, forces the double password reset.

    Will this login method be updated to work the same way as the main login screen (domain.myschoolapp.com/app#login)?

    @Sarah Bienvenue Hi Sarah, I was able to figure it out with Andres from support. We don't use the inquiry or the application, so it's my understanding the EMS notification will never be used. We are going to update the notification in Core under user management and make it applicable for both candidates and current families. Thank you for checking in!

    You can still use the EMS invite even if you don't use the inquiry or the application. If you have users in the parent of candidate/candidate roll, you can invite them via the BBID Authentication list from within EMS>admissions>blackbaud ID authentication.

    @Sarah Bienvenue Thanks for the reply! I went through support first and they said,

    “The reason that forgot password link is taking you to that place is because this portal is still connected exclusively to the legacy login system. You would need to be on the Blackbaud ID sign in page in order to click forgot password for Blackbaud ID specifically. When the Blackbaud ID mandate is rolled out it will remove all legacy login content and likely that login portal as well.”

    They were referring, there to the mandate rolled out in September, so for now that portal is broken.

    Should I open another support ticket?

    Support was correct that it will automatically be updated when BBID is live for everyone in September, but let me see if there's something we can do in the meantime. Stay tuned.

    An update going out on Tuesday will now make it so that if they click on the link, it will display the sign in/help message that resides in core>settings>custom text/messages> sign in help/request login information. The message for you school does not appear to be set so you'll want to make sure that you put instructions in there that explain that they should put their email in the sign in box and proceed to the next steps.

    @Sarah Bienvenue Is there a way to only send the BBID invite to certain inquiries in Enrollment Management? I only want to invite families looking for this year to be able to have BBID invites. For future year inquiries, I have a different email that goes out.
