Best practices / Migrating email from BBNC to NXT?

Good afternoon, all… we're in the process of migrating from RE7 to NXT, and we also currently use BBNC. Also, I'm in the process of moving into a new position that will manage these kinds of issues (I'm currently in our advancement division but in more of a PR role, and am moving into an advancement services position that will be over RE/NXT).

There are a number of things that I need to get up to speed on, but my current question is this: Is there a way to migrate our images and other email assets currently in BBNC over to NXT… and is that something I even want to do? Are the BBNC and NXT email platforms substantially similar, or is one head-and-shoulders above the other?

@Kevin Fletcher good luck on the move to Advancement Services. We currently use BBNC and NXT; our donation pages and registration pages are created in NXT, but we add them to pages on BBNC (easy with the copy function from NXT) so that any additional information or marketing information can be included with the donation or registration form. When you want to create images in NXT you'll need to add them to the NXT Library, so your Logo's and any programatic images that you have you may want to upload now and then as you build out your email marketing strategy you can add more as needed.

Here is an example of one of our donation forms that has a place on a netcomm page; the “always here” and “give with purpose” are netcommunity parts and the area to the right is what houses the donation form from NXT.

    Hope this is helpful,
    Elaine

@Kevin Fletcher in regards to email, the NXT platform is head and shoulders above BBNC in look and feel; some of the reports and metrics in NXT are still being build out, but I love the fact that you can see directly from a constituent record in NXT if the email was opened, bounced, or a link was clicked. This is way above what you see in BBNC as you have to click through to the actual email in BBNC to see what happened with it.

  • @Elaine Tucker Very much so, appreciate it!
