Action Categories and Action Types branching (restrict types to certain categories

Hello Friends,

We've been using RE for a long time and have accumulated a long list of Action Types. So many action types that users will enter the wrong type of Type under a Category. For instance, Category - Meeting and Type - Phone Call. Does RE provide a way to branch Types dependent on the Category selected? If I select the Category Meeting only Meeting related Types will be visible in the Type dropdown. It would be great if I could figure that out. I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to find this feature.

    @Paul LaRose - Unfortunately, conditional action types are not currently possible within RE. I recommend you visit the RE NXT Idea Bank and add this as an idea.

    @Paul LaRose, in the meantime, you may consider preluding your Action Types with a letter code. For example, for phone calls, replace “Solicit” with “P-solicit” and for mailings, replace “Birthday card” with “M-Birthday card”.

    Then you can sort them alphabetically by the prelude code in the drop down menu to make it easier to find. Hopefully there will be less entry confusion that way.
