Moving from Field to Field

Why can't we tab from field to field? This happens in AP and General Journal entries. When you click tab it does not go to the next field. We have to use mouse to click in the next field. This slows down the flow of entering invoices or journal entries. Anyone have a solution or is this a critical fix that will be corrected soon?

I was actually going to make a post on this. Tabbing between fields in journal entries and A/P used to work. Now it doesn't. Stopped working a few weeks ago. I was hoping it would be fixed, but it hasn't. Agreed this is URGENT. I'll contact support soon. You might try that too.

You should be able to still tab through these areas. The distribution area does require you to use the right arrow key initially, but then you can tab through. I can confirm I can do this currently in a test environment so I'd like to suggest what Sannyasin said and that's to file a ticket with support as this sounds like it's unique to your environments.

Interesting. Thanks for checking on that. It's broken here in all 4 of our databases--suspicious. The date field is also broken (probably not related). Entering “1231” doesn't work anymore. “123121” just deletes itself. It's like some core data entry code is broken for us.

Date field is broken too. Used to be able to just type 20 for the day of the month and it would fill in 10202022. Then it changed to 1020 and it would fill in the right date. Now you have to type in 10202022 for it to populate. Or you can enter 10-20. Too many unnecessary key stokes.

Google Chrome works a bit better than Safari. At least tabs kinda work.

The right arrow does not work at all. It doesn't move the cursor to the next field. Ex. in GL if you enter the account number you should be able to click the tab key and move to the date field and all the way across the line but it goes no way. You have to click your mouse in the date field and then you can tab the rest of the way across the line.

I use safari because I can't print checks from Chrome. So I just use safari for everything.

  • @Terri Reed
Yeah. I use Safari only too (probably because of checks too!).

  • @Terri Reed
I just finished with tech support. They are reporting it to the engineers to look into. Hopefully we get something soon.

  • @Terri Reed when using database mode, you can quickly move from field to field by holding the control key and the arrow key at the same time.
