Parent name on enrollment contract

This is probably a really silly question but we are trying to deploy enrollment contracts for the first time. The first paragraph of our current paper contract has typical contract language that says “this agreement is made as of ______ date between <our school>, <school address> ("School"), and ___________ the parent, guardian or other legally responsible party (”Parent") of the above-named Student." This paragraph seems important because it defines the term “Parent” for the remainder of the policy section of the contract, but I can't figure out how to get the parent's name into the contract – any suggestions, and/or how have you gotten around this issue? Thank you!

  • @Eric Bird that is a tough one. Maybe change it to use the signer acknowledgement block somehow? I don't think there is a way to merge parents names in the body of the contract.

  • @Eric Bird If you pull in a signer acknowledgement block above/below the text you mentioned it will list the parent/guardian names. You could slightly revise the text to say something about “the responsible parties listed below”. We include the acknowledgement blocks throughout the various sections of our contract and then add the signature block at the end.

Another thing I would recommend is to include the special consideration block somewhere in the contract. It won't actually display unless there is a special consideration added for a specific student but it allows for some flexibility if any contingencies needed to be included and you don't want to create a whole new contract.
