K-12 and Raptor Technologies

Good Afternoon All -

I am beginning to explore some new options for our visitor/volunteer management with background check and emergency management systems. One of the systems that has caught my attention is Raptor Technologies. Unfortunately, they do not currently integrate with Blackbaud. However, they said that some Blackbaud schools do use them and utilize something called Raptor Link to connect to the database. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on how well Raptor Link works if you are one of these schools.

I also welcome suggestions on any other vendors in this arena that anyone might recommend.

    We used VisitU from about 2017-2020 and then switched to SchoolPass.
    I did not work on the integrations, so cannot tell you much about it, but you can start you initial discovery at the Blackbaud Marketplace:

    We use SchoolPass - still use Raptor at lower school as SchoolPass doesn't work well for our lower school campus. We are uploading initial files, at the begining of the school year, into Raptor and then manually updating after school starts. I am totally interested in a Raptor Link!!

  • @Scott Chrysler We were supremely unhappy with Visitu after signing a contract with them. Check-in/out was (possibly still is) inaccurate and broken, and the emergency notifications did not work. We ended up starting a conversation with School Pass but our admin decided to put off visitor management for another year as we haven't been happy with any product so far. I was gunning for School Pass because they seem to have a pretty robust set of offerings for check-in/out though.

  • @Scott Chrysler I am rolling out Raptor Link through Clever. The integration data is limited to student info and guardians it does not integrate emergency contacts. I had to upload that and student photos myself. I went to rollout Raptor as our after school checkout system and DL photos mostlty save as a broken image. This inconsistentcy on the photo scans makes it unrelaiable . Support is not great. I was on the phone with a support person yesterday who said (about Raptor) “Dang, this sucks”. I am now looking for other reliable solutions.
