Any love for Annual Giving Statements?

We've just had an extremely lackluster experience with the NXT giving statements, so I went to the idea bank to see if there was any buzz about it there. I found 11 topics (totaling 670 votes) about being able to edit or otherwise improve on the giving statements (some of which go back years). Is there any love planned for this anytime soon? Right now, these statements are more confusing than helpful, and the statements themselves are bland. As this is the only way we have to email statements at the moment, we were really hoping for more.

  • @Mary Zieten you could try talking to your account rep about it and definitely vote on the ideas in the Idea Bank. Blackbaud encourages use of the idea bank and uses that to help determine their enhancements. Or so they say.

It is also worth attending Product Update Briefings (PUBs) which are held twice a year. This page archives recordings of previous PUBs and indicates that the next one is planned for April 2023.

Others may chime in with scuttlebutt they've heard, but I'm a “show me, don't tell me” kind of person.

  • @Mary Zieten I've posted in the forum about how I do this and share a link to my uploaded PDF how-to manual I created. It's meant to serve as a guide if you'd like to look.

  • @Mary Zieten I think it is great that they have added this “feature” to NXT. I don't for the life of me, though, understand why it cannot be customized to suit your org.

    No logo.

    No mission.

No look and feel at all.

    No necessary tax language.

    Just why???

This is pretty much our thought. It's great! Except for all the parts it's lacking…

@Mary Zieten I've asked this question before. I got an answer that made some sense, but not a lot.

The reason that the annual statements aren't modifiable or customizable is because they are formatted to fit in a window envelope. Granted, window envelopes vary with some significance. There wasn't much information about what size window envelope, but I think it is a No. 9. To achieve the correct formatting, they made the statement unable to be edited, which I think is a little silly. They could have at least allowed for a watermark or some other fields that would not have messed up the formatting.

But, they inserted this “feature” without much input, so I'm not surprised. It is disappointing though to say the least.
