Soooo.....Has anyone started looking at their 1098T in the system?


I had reviewed ours prior to the winter break and all looks good.  Just waiting for the IRS filing site to open up so that I can file all of our 1098T, 1099NEC, and 1099R at the same time.  I have to admit, I really want to pull the trigger and publish to the students, but I also want to make sure that they system will work properly first.   If I have to export to another system in order to file, I might as well print and mail them too.  It might save on the phone calls, of how to access them in the new system.  I already had one mom ask prior to our break when she would receive her tax forms.  I politely informed her that the deadline for distribution from the IRS was 1/31/2021.

    We have published the 1098T to the Students, and sent to agency.  That was the steps I was informed by Tech support that need be done in order to generate the work file for IRS File.  At this point I can see the 1098T for each student on my side when I go into their accounts through Billing Management, however when I impersonate a student, I cannot see the form.  I have not idea where to tell them to look for it.  I know it is supposed to be in their payor portal, but I don't see it anywhere in there.  I also have no idea if my file went to the IRS or not since It never opened the IRS file site and asked me to put in my username and password.  Literally waiting to see if we receive an email from IRS File by the end of the week.


    Yes, I have opened a case to address the issues, just wanted to let anyone else know what the experience has been like so far.  I am anticipating that I may need to export the information (thanks to that newly available capability today) and create a workfile with another software system to load to the IRS File site.  As far as getting the forms to the students, I hope that someone can point out where they are before I need to email EVERY student their 1098T starting on the 27th.

    Were the students able to see their 1098T? I am running into the same issue - I can't find the form when impersonating. Did you distribute a different way?

    The student can see the tax form in the billing dropdown at the bottom where is says tax form.
