NXT Donation Form
I wonder if we are not alone on these issues with NXT Donation Forms. We love the fact it allows donors to give through PayPal and Venmo. But, and this is a big but:
- Email notifications to our organization do not provide enough information. OLX notifications spell out who the donor is and why he/she donated, including detailed information on tributes/memorials. According to tech support, NXT Donation Form notifications to our organization lack this detailed information for security reasons.
- NXT automatically creates duplicate accounts if it does not perfectly match a donor. The user is not given the opportunity to accept or reject duplicates. This can be problematic for tribute gifts; duplicating the donor, the person being honored, and the person receiving the tribute card.
- With NXT donation forms, users wishing to obtain detailed information regarding a tribute gift, the following must happen:
- Process the gift first
- Go to Database view and open the constituent record
- Open the gift record
- Click on the tribute tab
- Click on the name of the person being honored
- Click on link to the record of the person being honored (to find the address where to mail the tribute)
I hope we are not alone in pointing out these shortcomings. We have read some comments on the Raiser's Edge Users Group Support Forum on Facebook and wanted to raise the issue with the Idea Bank.

@Jorge Lazaro - All the points you've laid out are the common complaints with NXT Donation Forms. I recommend you stick with OLX for now, as you are able to offer the PayPal/Venmo option there as well - as long as Blackbaud Checkout is enabled.

@Jorge Lazaro All the reasons why we stopped using them. Not to mention the fact that we had some recurring gifts miss their scheduled dates to run and then randomly run after I requested that they not be. ?
Moved to Network For Good and use Importacular and it is miles, MILES above NXT. If you need to import anything, Importacular is the way to go.

@Jorge Lazaro - we are giving BBMS a test run and I have concerns about the Tribute notifications being delayed until the gift is posted. After a chat with BB who confirmed that this is how it is for now, I've created a suggestion in their Idea forum. Please vote with me here:

@Lee Grisham
I am so glad I saw this. The same thing happened to me! I tried to update the schedule to quarterly, but it didn't change. So I had to go into the recurring gift and skip payments until April.1 -
@Jorge Lazaro we have been using the forms more and more and they have been great ….. we now we have created a form and the gifts are to be applied to a pledge. The gift entry person is running into issues applying to the pledge and in some cases is having to delete the gift and re-enter.

@Angela Tuttle I do not know of a way to apply a gift to a pledge through webview. However, and I know it is quite manual, you could open the specific gift in database view and apply it to a pledge that way. I am the only one processing gifts here and we do not have a large amount daily so it would not be too much for me if we had this issue. Just a thought, rather than deleting and re-entering.

@Jorge Lazaro we switched last year from OLX to NXT forms to take advantage of Complete Cover. That has saved us over $1,500 this last year in processing fees. I can completely empathize with your frustrations, though. I cannot tell you how many records I have had to go and delete because they are duplicates of a constituent we already have, not to mention the tributes I have had to correct because of the way the donor entered the information on the form. I'm still staying with the NXT forms, though.
My question is, have you found PayPal/Venmo integration beneficial? We currently do not have that and I have read others' comments about the lack of usefulness of PayPal's interaction. We are looking into a texting campaign and I was pondering the effectiveness or necessity of having these added options. Right now we have a Venmo account that I then manually enter the few donations we receive from that platform. I know I can always import them, as well, but there just has not been high enough activity through that to warrant it.

@Miki Martin Thank you!!

@Angela Tuttle So can gifts be deleted in the database view after being posted in web view? I thought they couldn't be deleted at all.

@Mary Chase - Gifts that originate in Web View can be deleted in one of three ways.
1. Moving the gift to a new constituent record, then deleting the new constituent record.2. Through a Global Delete.
3. Utilizing the SKY API delete gift endpoint in Power Automate.
Here's another post with more detail on these options: https://community.blackbaud.com/forums/viewtopic/143/646101 -
@Austen Brown Thanks so much!!
