Business Rule: pop-up when entering a gift and selecting a fund

Hi RE community!

Is it possible to create a Business Rule that gives an alert or a pop-up when entering a gift in database view if Fund A or Fund B is selected to indicate that the gift needs to be split between Fund A and Fund B?

I am not aware of any way to create a business rule to do that. The business rules are based on a query of records containing specific data more than on on-the-fly if A then B.

If you were entering pledge payments to these funds you could have a rule based on existing pledges for a pop-up.

I was unable to create a business rule for this situation. The query is a constituent query and not a gift query. I tried a constituent query with Fund A or B, but the business rule didn't pop up when I entered Fund A for a constituent record.

@Dana Smith I second others, this type of situation cannot have a business rule, since there is nothing actually on the record to have a business rule pop up, in this case the act of entering a gift.

@Dana Smith I think that the Validatrix plug-in from Zeidman Development would allow you to do this, not sure what the cost is though.
