Find students who DON'T have a contract?

Is there a way to find out if current students are NOT assigned a contract? I find the contract assigning process clumsy, and it would be helpful to see if anyone has been left out of getting a contract, but I don't see how to find students who are not assigned a contract. Any ideas?

I am just guessing, but could you make a contract, filtering on grades, to see if the numbers match? We are about to publish our contracts and I always compare the numbers of contracts published to the number in each grade. There are a few reports/advanced lists for contracts that might help.

You can use Vlookup in excel to figure out who hasn't been assigned a contract. Export a list from enrollment management with all students that have been assigned a contract and make sure you include their user id. Then export a list from student lists of all students including their user ids. In the list that contains all students use vlookup against the list that only contains students that have a contract. Use the userid for the lookup.

  • I emphatically second this suggestion.

Using VLOOKUP in Excel is the best way to deal with these kinds of things:

    • finding out what's in one list but missing in another
    • merging info from one list into another

Well worth the investment to learn this invaluable tool.

If you need help, send me a msg and I'll help.

  • Thank you all for the excellent suggestions! VLOOKUp method found more than I expected! So glad I checked.
