RENXT Opportunity Purpose

Hello all,

How many “Purpose” options do you allow your Frontline Fundraisers to choose from? I want to avoid having 35 of them in our system, any suggestions for how have structed yours and what are your success for structuring them that way? TIA!

  • @Yolanda Wright - our setup for purposes aligns with what @Dan Snyder mentioned. Our options align with our strategic fundraising plans focusing on 5 areas. Each member of the team has specific goals to raise throughout the year. Using the purpose associated with a fundraising initiative enables us to report at a glance where we stand on our goals. Every organization is different, and you have to find the right option for your team. I was lucky enough to start the opportunity from scratch. Our purposes are: Partners In Mission (team member responsible for corporate and vendor donors), Major Gifts (team members responsible for $5k donors), Grant, Planned Gifts, and Annual Fund.

  • @Dan Snyder I appreciate your response, this makes perfect sense!

  • @Joe Moretti Thank you for your input, yes, less is more. The fewer tables I have to dig through for queries, the better!

  • @Barbara Kunkel Thank you so much, we are in a comprehensive campaign and I will review the funding priorities and decide accordingly.

@Yolanda Wright Our purposes align with the workgroup creating/managing the proposal (which also correlates to the budget goal buckets we have), so we have Capital Campaign, Major Gift, Planned Gift, Grant Proposal, and Public Grant.

  • @Yolanda Wright We align our Purpose field with the AHP categories so we can benchmark against other organizations, i.e. capital, endowment, program, etc. Hope that is helpful!

  • @Rachel Kave Hi! Thanks so much for your input, much appreciated.
