Exclude Account from Department Report

Is there a way to print a department report and exclude certain accounts? I'd like to report not include the salary and benefit accounts, but include everything else.

    @Nancy McMahon It depends on what type of report you are running. In the report filters you can choose which accounts to include.

    another option like Lisa suggests is the filter, but you could setup queries, to include / exclude accounts and save the filter with the query.

    @Lisa Olscamp I'm running an income statement. The only way I have found to exclude accounts is to list each of the accounts I want to include separately. It would be much easier to exclude 2 accounts rather than listing 40 accounts separately.

    @Nancy McMahon Is it a sequential range of accounts? Or are the account codes scattered?

    @Lisa Olscamp The account codes are scattered and each department uses different accounts. The easiest solution I have come up with is to run the report for the entire department and save it to excel, delete the two salary lines and then resave it as a pdf. It works, but when I have 50 plus reports to run it takes some time to go through each of them. ?

    @Nancy McMahon, my first thought was a chart organizer. Set it and forget it, so to speak. You can have a chart organizer with salaries and without, and just use the one you need for that particular audience.

    @Nancy McMahon, you can use range in the filters. Account codes from xxxx to xxxx and then skip you two that you don't need and then the remaining range.

    You could import an attribute to all the expense accounts and grab just the attribute you want to include, especially if chart is all over the place and these will occur regularly.

    I would create a query in database view and exclude salary and benefit accounts. Then, run the report using the query as filter.
