Grantee sudden time-outs

Hello!

Do any of your grantees complain about BBGM suddenly timing out or kicking them out when they are in the process of filling out an application? (We have disabled the Timeout feature on our Account Designer) Or have any of your grantees mentioned that some of the fields do not save the data when they select ‘Save and Finish Later’?

    We have experienced timeout issues in the past - including with the Reviewer Portal - but we've not reports recently to my knowledge.
    It's worth noting that only two actions will save your progress:

    • Clicking on Save and Finish Later
    • Clicking Next to navigate to the next page

    We advise applicants click ‘Next’ then ‘Back’ as often as every 10/15 minutes to make sure work is saved as we had reports that after spending 45/60 minutes filling in responses on a page, data was lost because the form timed out without the applicant realising.

    To ensure the user clicks ‘Next' as often as possible it would be worth keeping the number of fields on a page to a minimum.

    FYI - if the Time Out settings are left blank in the Account Designed the application system defaults to a 20 minute idle timeout. It is recommended to set the Time Out settings to avoid this, you can set the Time Out for 120 minutes, that would allow for no changes to be made for 2-hours before timing out.

    @Sumayya Hafeez To access this you will need to go into the Account Designer.

    • Applications > Forms Manager
    • Settings > Account Designer
    • Settings > Properties

    Once on the properties section the Timeout Settings are in the second section on the left hand tool bar.
