Promoted or Retained on Report Cards

Hello!

I am hoping to add a spot on our 4th Quarter Report Card that shows that the student was promoted to the next grade or retained in the current grade. Is anyone else doing this, and how did you accomplish it? I am considering the “Text area” as an option, or “Student notes” as a distant second. Any other ideas?

  • @Casey Walters I think Official Notes would be the easiest, but that is such a great question. I am curious what others do.

  • @Casey Walters - At my former school, the lower school was the only division that did this. The last line of the students' 4th quarter comment from their classroom teacher would state that the student was recommended for advancement to grade X.

    Hope that helps.

@Casey Walters - We don't make this notation on report cards or transcripts, but I was curious about how I would do it. I agree with @Candi Roberts - Official Notes are probably the best way to do it.

Both Report Cards and Transcripts allow you to enter a specific Official Note type on the report card. You can use Core > System tools > Data Import to add the note for each student. (Import category is Student, Import type is Official Note.)
