Need to create acknowledgements that account for gifts and/or membership, back office and orders

I am struggling to create acknowledgements that allow me to account for gifts (inc. pledge, rec gift, donation) and/or memberships from back office and sales orders. My goal is to have acknowledgements for memberships that also include an added donation, if there is one. The gifts acknowledgements will be divided by the application amount, as different people handle different amounts. I may want to be able to be able to account for Pledges on its own ack ltr.

I believe I know how to accomplish what is desired for gifts. But I'm struggling with the correct way to set up membership (w/ addl donation, if any) so that I can include some of the membership transaction information related to level, exp, term, benefits waived etc. If I already have one node, Revenue Marketing/Revenue/Application = Type =Gift, do I have to start a new I add another Revenue node and Application=Type =Membership from the same default Revenue Marketing node?

Or do I have to have one revenue node for back office Pmt on memberships and another for Pmt on Order for memberships?

    This is a good question - I can't really answer without trying it. Last time I had an export issue and had to chat with support, the CSR told me not to use too many nodes. (Whatever I did totally crashed my mailing.) I am interested to see what everyone else thinks and if there is a way to figure this out without trial and error.

  • @Tamara Christensen I have been working with support since December. This is the second time since that I have had to recreate my whole acknowledgement process. It was such a mess with so many nodes I didn't know which combinations were correct so I started over again on Friday, but I at least have the basics for split gift and membership amts now.

    Whenever I try to get the information related to an order, such as membership transaction info level, exp, term etc., I am told you can't get to that. Which I find really strange. I'm trying to acknowledge a membership pmt on an order and want to be able to include that membership transaction info. But I am working with support again, so hopefully I'll be able to get these set up so we can use the email to send the membership acks. We haven't been using email and I'm half afraid to make that first send, lol.
