When does daily recorded attendance lock?

Update – article says within school day, so guessing before the last bell rings.

We use attendance for counselors and clinicians to record sessions with students (options are 30 minute, 60 minutes etc.)

They see students throughout the day so those services are set up as courses with this record method:

Sometimes they may need to update that attendance in the evening, but it seems to be locking them out after 3 or 4 PM (PST) and they need me to unlock it for them.

What time does attendance recorded daily lock? Is there any way to make it extend to 11:59 PM or later that same day? Or give them more flexibility for time to record.
