Altru vs. ReNXT

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with both tools, if any institutions have switched from one to the other, and maybe why you went with ReNXT or Altru?

Hi Katie, I've had experience with both systems, RENXT at my previous job and Altru in my current job. For RENXT, the Database View - although a very comforting feature for staff more familiar with the classic view of the RE7 interface, the database view requires a Citrix app for each user and it really slows down your day-to day-functionality, especially toggling between Web View and Database view. Also, with RENXT - it's only a CRM, so you still need to have a complementary ticketing software in place and integration architecture needs to be built. In Altru, while it has its own unique limitations, it pales to my experience with RENXT. Altru is an all-in-one system with ticekting and a CRM combined, there is no syncing of data. Your funcionality is as fast as your orgs internet bandwidth. At my previous porst, there were regrets that we didn't move to Altru from our self hosted RE7. Long story short - I would tell anyone to rip the bandaid off - skip upgrading to RENXT, and go right to Altru.

  • Hi @Katie Nelson,

The South Carolina Aquarium was previously using Raiser's Edge as our fundraising CRM (we were in the database version only, we had not added NXT). We migrated from RE over to Altru. Our ticketing, membership, group sales, etc. also switched software platforms over to Altru. And we've been using Altru for just about three years now.
