Reporting with Inactive Accounts

I have included the filter "Include In Active Accounts. But it doesn't pull the account. It doesn't even recognize the account. Under GL/Accounts that particular account has been set to Prevent data entry and or posting starting January 2023. But the account was active in 2022. The only way I can get those codes to pull on the report is to make them active again which I don't want to.

    any particular report in the GL ? Or all GL reports? also DB view or webview have different results?

    I went in and made the accounts active again so I can run my reports for previous year accurately. May this can be looked at and make a change.

    @Janet Tucker, in General Ledger Configuration settings for Business Rules > General, do you have the boxes marked to ‘exclude inactive accounts from queries’ and/or ‘exclude inactive accounts from searches in database view’?

    @Nikki Baldwin no, it is not marked to exclude inactive accoutns.

    @Janet Tucker thanks – I know you said all reports in webview, but are you using reports that utilize a chart template? And if so, can you validate that to ensure it's not being excluded?
    Do the balances change when you mark to include the inactive accounts vs not on the report?

    I'm thinking it may be working as designed that inactive accounts can have their balances included in order to balance reports but that you won't be able to see the detail for those accounts unless they are active. Just trying to cover all bases, though, while trying to confirm this. UPDATE: No, we should be able to show the inactive accounts as long as all the business rules, boxes, and chart templates are good to include them.

    Let me know if validating the chart template shows that the account(s) in question are missing.
