Genral Journal rows added

Does anybody know how to copy a GJ batch and the insert row inbetween new batch. It will only let us put row at end of batch.

Also did anybosy noticed if in GJ entry and clicked into a number if you hit scroll wheel by mistake it changes numbers up and down. It is bozaree. Why would they have this feature?

You can't insert a line. Or move lines around. It's a painful missing feature. It get's really bad when you have a long journal entry that you are using as a template for future entries!

That scroll wheel thing is really, really, really painful. I get to the end of an entry and wonder why it doesn't proof, only to realize one number got the scroll wheel of death treatment.

Support said it was “as designed.”

Thank you so much for that info.

I am not sure who to complain to because Both of these issues shoulded be changed ASAP.

YES scroll wheel of death and for the person that reviews the entry to have to drop down to bottom for any new lines is CRAZY

I was told by our BB helper in our transition that she doesn't know who to tell.

There must be a better way. It is like going from CITRIX database to Web based has made it worse and they have not have data entry or acccountants try it out to get the “kinks out”

Agreed. I've been working with Blackbaud for quite a while to upgrade and improve data entry. There have been some improvements for sure, but they have a long ways to go. To me, data entry is basically the most important area to improve. I keep being hopeful and make suggestions as much as I can.

For any complex or recurring journal entries, it's recommended to use the Excel Batch Creator Add-in. It's pretty good actually. And you can move lines around, of course, before adding the journal entry. It's worth trying out, for sure.

I wish similar functionality was within the web view. Maybe some day.

NXT is very much an unfinished product. It's unfortunate, and it seems like with many of their updates, NXT actually loses functionality rather than gaining. I've had to move back to processing almost everything in database view which has me wondering why we're paying so much extra for the “upgrade” to NXT.

Totally agree. I am constantly inserting a row. That needs to be fixed. I've also had problems not only changing the numbers but not keeping all my key strokes. I will type 121.75 (this is for entering A/P invoices also) and then look and it only has 1.75 or it deletes the number all together! I guess I'm going to post in the ideas & hope more people vote for this.

  • @Lisa Ford-I know it is another stroke but I find that when I get to the number sections that I need to hit enter first to get the number that I type to go in. Not a long term solution but learning to deal with the quirk.
