User Experience After BBID is turned on in Blackbaud hosted environment.

We are preparing to turn on BBID on our hosted Production environment. We will use SS0 through ADFS and Duo authentication. I'm not clear on what our users will see when they click on the usual link to CRM after BBID is enabled. We want to communicate to the users what exactly to expect and the steps they will go through to link their username to BBID. I'm curious if anyone has already done this and can share their experience with user communication.

Essentially, if they've never logged in to a Blackbaud website they'll get prompted for their email + password. As soon as they enter their email, they'll be redirected to your org's SSO portal where they'll enter their creds.

If users participated in UAT, they'll see a message saying “welcome back sign in with…(org's name)". They will click on that url which will take them to your org's SSO portal and enter their creds.

    Hope this helps.

  • @Zar Metzti Thank you so much for your response. Would I need to give users a link to the Blackbaud website for their first sign in or do they use the same URL used before BBID?

In our case, we were self-hosted and we did have to provide a new URL to access the application.
