Looking for Community Foundations who migrated from Classic RE to RE NXT

How did it go? Words of wisdom? Lessons learned? Pros and cons of new system? Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • @Nola Frost Hi! I don't work for a community foundation but I will say that I don't think anyone ever completely migrates from database view to NXT. Many orgs find that they have to use both. Not all features are available in both platforms. One team member may spend more time in one or the other. Many that do data entry and reporting may work in database view more often simply because that is where the most usable features live. Good luck!

I really think they should stop using the term “migration”, because for the most part it's not really a migration. It's more like an upgrade than anything else. The method you log in might change, but you still have access to classic RE 7 at any time. The only thing that changes is there is now a new way to interact with the data.

That said, recognize and realize that NXT is where all the innovation is going, and don't expect any new features to happen in classic. What I'm really trying to say is that all of the cool new stuff is probably going to be NXT only.
