Captcha and Duolingo
Did you know that captcha and recaptcha were invented by the same man who invented Duolingo?
Or that every time you type text into a reCaptcha, you are helping to create a digital library of e-books?
A RE user recently posted about her captcha hurdles, and it brought to mind this article I read a few months ago. It's a few minute read, but if you're nerdy like me, enjoy!

Thanks for sharing! Very interesting - I had no idea reCaptcha was actually doing something other than annoying people who just want to get into that website they need ?.I do find it interesting that creative technology people keep finding ways to get the rest of us to work for free. reCaptcha image identification is considerably more creative than self check-out at the stores, but, they're both impacting societal norms.
