OneRoster Sandbox | Sky Developer Cohort
Hello everyone !
I'd like to access a sandbox for the OneRoster API. We have access to the Sky Developer Cohort, but I haven't been able to figure out where to generate a key & secret for the OneRoster API. I'm hoping to ask, would anyone be able to let me know the process for requesting access? Just to let you know a little about us, we're an ed-tech startup focusing on high schools.

EDIT: I am corrected regarding OneRoster API access for the Dev Cohort environment. It sounds like it is prevented as of now. I will get more precise information and update this thread.--------------------------
You should be able to generate those on the OneRoster Settings form. You will need to have the Integration Manager role to access this area.
- Go to Core > Settings > Integration settings page > OneRoster settings tab.
- Choose the Add button.
- Fill out fields and generate key and secret.

@Stephen Boyle is there any update on this question? Access to the developer sandbox would be very beneficial for any developer using the OneRoster API without access to a live environment or who would prefer to test in a proper development environment

I have a related question you may be able to help with. I see that ISV partners with marketplace listing are charged API connection fees based on active customer connections to their app.
With the OneRoster API, a customer would not connect a SKY application in the same manner - would a partner offering an integration using OneRoster still be subject to connection fees?0 -

OneRoster does not use the subscription tiers or usage pricing. It is intended as a connection between the SIS and an external LMS.The trade-off would be the limited dataset available through OneRoster.

@Mitchell Rogers This is logging directly into the Education application. I don't see your email associated with any environments. Can you provide the URL of where you are logging in?

I have team admin role, and I have the owner/admin holder in contact. I don't see anywhere in the settings of teams or admin portal to create an Integration Manager account or role…

Hi @Mitchell Rogers, looks like you don't currently have access to any sandbox environments where you would be able to access the Core module and set up OneRoster. If you navigate here:
Within #2 there is a link to request access. Once you are set up you should be able to navigate to where Stephen directed in the earlier post.

Thank you for the response. I think that's what I'm missing.
What's confusing is that we have an application and an environment, that I am a team member of, but on my own account profile page, it says no solutions.
How do I request access to SKY Developer Cohort sandbox environment?

@Mitchell Rogers You can follow that link I posted and select the Request access link #2. That should just open an email to our SKY team and you can just note you need access to an Education Management sandbox.

Okay, looks like I got access to the sky developer cohort. However, I'm not seeing those options in the settings:
Presumably I need to give my user integration role. Where in tarnation do I do that?

My apologies. We do not grant Integration Manager by default, but as you are an ISV Partner I can add that role to your user.
