I remember hearing that Blackbaud plans to add the ability to import questions from one assessment to another. Do you know if that might come during the summer? I was starting to redo some assessments for next year, but I’d probably hold off for now if that change is imminent.

@Jennifer McConnell Yes - it is forthcoming. Mike Morrissette talked about it during the latest product briefing earlier this week. I don't recall the exact date being mentioned, but it sounded like it was going to definitely be in place for next school year. He said that when teachers start to import their content for next year's courses, that there would be an option to convert the old assessment quizzes to the new version.

That is good news! Do you think there will be a way to take questions from, say, a quiz and Import them into a different assessment like a Test that covers the same content? Or, to dump all the questions from quarter 1 into a 9 weeks test without rewriting them or copying and pasting?

@Jennifer McConnell That would be a question for @Michael Morrissette. I got the impression it was just going to be if you had an assessment in the old assessment builder, you could import those questions into the new assessment builder. What it sounds like you are describing is that the questions are in a question bank and then you could use the questions on a quiz, but then use the same questions again later on a test. Hopefully I am understanding that correctly? Either way, Mike would be the one who can give the definitive answer.

Hey @Chris Felinski and @Jennifer McConnell -

We have two different features in the works, one for converting old assessments into new ones and another feature to add questions to a question bank to then be pulled into the new assessment builder.

Our goal is to have the conversion tool put into the product sometime before the beginning of the next school year. Like Chris mentioned, we're hoping to embed that directly into the Assignment Import function that way as teachers are pulling materials from the previous year, those assessments are being copied into the new builder automatically.

The question bank feature is something we're wanting to look into towards the end of this calendar year. This particular feature is still very much in an early discovery phase, so the timeline for release is a little hard to pin down at the moment. Things may also happen during the development cycle that require us to pivot, or reevaluate this function. As this project matures, and we have a more concrete timeline, we'll be sure to let you all know!

It's been fun to see teachers adopting this new experience! For the last 3 months, we've seen 88.9% of all newly created assessments being created with the new builder. Hopefully the recently released Detailed breakdown, partial credit for Multiple Choice questions, and the result screen expire setting have all been welcome changes. We're excited to continue iterating on this experience and bringing more value to you all in future!

Im having difficulty understanding impoted old assessments to new assessments.where can i read more about this…also im having difficulty extending assessments after student misses date..i thought this was fixed but im stymied and the year just started. Steve
