Web View Donation Forms: Where does updated information show up?

We just started transitioning from OLX to Web View forms. I've done numerous tests and varied my donor information and I'm not seeing where RE might point out that there is a discrepancy. Am I missing something? How are others managing this?

@Elizabeth Johnson - Due to the Automatic Constituent Matching feature, NXT will process incoming donor information automatically; meaning there is no review on your end. Due to the conservative nature of its algorithm, it may create duplicates within your system. You will need to build duplicate management into your online gift process.

If I misunderstood your question, let me know.

@Elizabeth Johnson @Austen Brown - Great advice, Austen. I always suggest that customers set a recurring 5 minute time block on their calendar every Monday/Friday morning to review potential duplicates in Data Health. It really helps folks develop good, consistent habits and stay on top of potential duplicates. It takes seconds to review if you stay on top of them, but for those who let them build up over time, it can take a good chunk of time to work through.

@Austen Brown and @Tristan McKee - Excellent suggestion! I'm pretty on top of our duplicates but with the possibility of more being duplicates created, I'll change that frequency of checking. I'm not sure this truly addresses my question though.

So I made a gift using my work email address and that was not an email address on my record. (I took it off to see what would happen) It didn't add it to my record. I used the same address so it had no trouble finding me. With OLX there was a screen where you could see the discrepancies between the data in RE and the data submitted on the form. I'm wondering if that exists somewhere and I'm not finding and how others are working around this?

@Elizabeth Johnson - That does not currently exist, but it is coming. Blackbaud is actively working on a solution where there will be a review feature in WV similar to what you are looking for. I recommend watching the upcoming PUB in November, I'm sure they'll have an update about it then.

@Austen Brown Thanks Austen. I will absolutely be at the November PUB - I always try to make those. So in the meantime, the best thing to do is compare the notifications against the records? Do you have any magical Power Automate work arounds?

@Elizabeth Johnson - Theoretically you could do something through Power Automate, just an idea:

    • Use PA connectors to locate online gifts in RE first, you'll need a dynamic field to identify these gifts.
    • Within email, same deal applies, you'll need a unique way for PA to recognize email notifications from NXT donation forms vs other emails received. Then figure out a way for PA to interrupt information within the email and bring it back in to the flow.
    • Finally from here you could compare the information from both avenues, and it notifies you of a difference.

The amount of time/effort it would you take to build this out may not be beneficial to your org; nor do I know if it is completely possible. The simplest thing to do would be to manually compare the notification to the record as gifts are received; depending on volume.
