Constituent Activity History - not possible?

My leadership has tasked me with something that I don't think NXT can do. I am reaching out to you all with your depth of knowledge to see if I am missing something.

They would like to see all interactions our org has with a Constituent. This includes things like emails/receipts for gifts, volunteer hours, Actions, Giving History, etc.

The closest thing I can find is something like Audit Trail from Zeidman, but that doesn't do emails and won't pull in everything across different objects in the database, only the one you are viewing. There doesn't seem to be any API endpoints for some of these areas, either, so nothing can be developed that would encompass everything.

Am I right?

    Hi Lee,

I asked something a bit similar a while back and received some answers that enabled me to get the gift, action, and note histories. Maybe it will work for volunteer hours too?

  • @Dana Smith unfortunately, our staff don't want to be in db view. They want to see everything in one place in webview. That is the difficulty.

Staff may have to compromise. This is a system limitation and there is nothing that can be easily done.

This kind of response (not from you, but from your staff) I find incredibly frustrating. I don't know of any fundraising CRMs that can easily serve up all of this information. I suspect it could be built out in Salesforce, or you could potentially use PowerBI or Tableau to build a report, but that is a pretty big investment of time and potentially money.

Make sure they understand how to rearrange tiles on a constituent screen, and make sure that the data is being populated, but that's about all that can be done right now. Volunteer information is somewhat limited in webview, for example. And if you aren't receipting gifts or sending emails via webview, that information will not populate either.

I would ask the age-old question of why they need this.

    Good luck to you!

    Karen
