Online recommendation used for candidate visit

I submitted this idea to the idea bank K12OB-I-2709. But, maybe there is a workaround? Any ideas/thoughts are appreciated.

We would like to be able to issue an online recommendation form to our teachers who host candidates for classroom visits. Currently, we upload a PDF form under Visit Notes. I don't believe it is possible to implement currently, as online recommendations must be initiated by the candidate. We would like the ability to initiate it from the checklist and it would not be visible to candidates/parents.

  • @Deanna Thompson I am not very techy, but what if you made a google doc or Microsoft form for the recommendation you want and email it to the teacher. Create an unpublished step (that does not effect their milestone) as miscellaneous recommendation form and upload the response you get from the teacher.

Upvoted! This is a good idea. In general, I think the online rec form should be more staff-user friendly (eg when a request needs to be updated, why do I have to impersonate the parent to do this?). I like the current workflow but it would be nice to have the ability for some of the actions to come from admissions personnel.

  • @Deanna Thompson I work in admissions and we use a google form to send to teachers after a student visit to get their feedback. We can print for their physical folder but can also make the responses into a PDF, if needed.

As a new user to Blackbaud who has worked at schools with Ravenna and Finalsite; I am disappointed that Blackbaud does not allow you to create internally delegated forms for student visits, parent interview notes and tour guide forms, etc. You would think ANY Enrollment Management module would have this capacity. Uploading an external Google form is a reasonable idea if we cannot figure out how to create our own template. (Thanks Heidi O.)
