Correcting a student payment amount

How do you correct an incorrect payment amount that has been added to a student account and marked as posted? Thank you.

    HI Karen,

    Unfortunately, once it is posted you can delete or edit. You would need to use a billing item to correct it. We have a Misc Charge set up that can handle things like that, I just type in the description what the charge is doing. Just make sure to correct your distributions for what you need to do prior to posting. That may mean that you need to unapply items. Not the cleanest but in the end it will do what you need it to do.
