Yes, I think the largest I've ever personally posted or seen posted was over 125K lines. Are you posting it in Webview or DB view? THe one I did that large was DB view. It took an extremely long time and I had to just let it work, but it did post.

Thank you for the response, Kevin. I have been able to do it in DB. But am not able to do it in Webview (NXT). Have you tried posting a similar size in Webview ?

Not recently. I've not seen any “limits” advertised, and in theory, it should let you do the same as in DB view. But the slowness could be a factor, a sizeable one in DB view could take a while, I'm talking about clicking post and let it run an hour or more just to “post” it. I would expect the same or more from Webview since it seems to run a hair slower than DB view on average.

  • @Jessica Lim When we were converting to Blackbaud and uploading our history, our entires were in excess of 14,000 lines each.

thank you for your response, Sharelle. Were you using database view or FE NXT ? I have no problem with database view. It is with NXT that i am having difficulty.
  • @Jessica Lim I use the excel add on (Create Journal Entry Batch) to upload my JEs to FE NXT. Can quickly transfer many row/lines.

  • @susan correa, thank you for the response. The article you sent says, A single spreadsheet supports up to 1000 rows of distributions. Have you exceeded this ? By how many rows ? Our typical payroll upload is usually 3,500 rows.

  • @Jessica Lim
Agree, the 1000 line limitation is not very helpful. Since database importing will soon be going away and the NXT Excel Add In functionality is limited to 1000 lines, what will be our solution going forward? Has Blackbaud given you any advice Jessica? Thank you

  • @Rick Straub Not that I have tried this, but I remember hearing that the 1000 line limit in the Excel batch creator can be extended by adding lines in the “body”; where the blue formatting is.

  • @Rick Straub
Hi Rick, i am happy to share that by using the Excel Add-in “Create Journal Entry Batch” i have successfully uploaded payroll batches with 3000+ rows. Blackbaud tech support was helpful in giving me links to instructions on how to do this. Chat with them. They are very responsive.

  • @Jessica Lim That is great to hear. Thanks for the update.
