Assignment textbox submissions sometimes not showing up

Hello; within the past few days, I've noticed a problem where students will submit some text for an assignment in the textbox submission thing, but when I go to view the submission, it will often say, “No text has been submitted” – but then if I try clicking on another student and then clicking back to the original student a few times, eventually the submitted text will show up, especially if I toggle back and forth between the option that lets you view the list of students on the left hand side. Is there some glitch that's occurring for some reason? Thanks! :)

  • @Brendan McGrath We had a glitch with our textbox. I sort of heard these issues from teachers where they couldn't see student work that was submitted. But was more frustrating is we had students who said they submitted work, but when they went back, the textbox was empty. Or if they entered and exited the textbox, they might see a previous version of what they did, then they saved it, and then they lost all their newest work because the previous version showed up.

    None of the teachers I work with, or myself, saw the symptoms you describe with the glitch - but then again, we didn't try it the way you did it.

    @Michael Morrissette might be able to chime in on this. He was able to explain what was happening in our world and did some stuff on his end, and we have had no issues since. We also were a part of multiple EAP's (early adopter program), so I am never sure on the line between the fact we were in essence beta testers of the software vs. what everyone sees.

    Like Chris had mentioned, we did have an issue with text submissions where the text would sometimes disappear when students were looking at their assignment pages. The issue you described sounds a little different, however.

    If you haven't already, I suggest reaching out to our Support team and having a case created. If the issue is determined to be linked to a defect, they'll get that work item sent to our development team to have addressed.
