Restricting viewing of balance sheet and revenue accounts

I am working on setting up security groups. One group needs to be set to view expense accounts only when running reports General Ledger reports or other reports for budget versus actual. Is there a way to restrict this.

if your FE has the advanced secrurity functionality, then you're able to restrict what accounts any individual user can see, such as just expense accounts. You would go to the user and if this function is unlocked you'll have a tab called Account Security on the user. There is also this same function for projects as well. It has a tab called project security. The main thing to consider is which and how many accounts a user needs. Normally I try to setup an account query and pick that as the method to outline which accounts the user can see. That way if a new account is added and the query's criteria picks it up, the account is added to that user's pool of visible accounts automatically and reduces manual editing of the user's account list.

How does one determine if they have advanced security functionality?

@Debbie Bernhardt open up a user in security, in database view as this is not migrated yet to webview. If you see a tab that says account security, project security, then you have it unlocked.
