Changing Assigned Fundraiser for a List of Constituents

I have pulled a list of constituents that are assigned to an RE fundraiser. I want to reassign all of them to a different fundraiser. Is there a way to do this en masse or do I have to go to each constituent and change it?

I could also pull this as a gift list if that would make this global change possible.

@Kelly Schumann You can do this in an import where you will need to change that fundraiser and make them a “former” type. A Two Step Process. FIRST, you will need to pull that particular fundraiser in a query and export JUST that fundraiser and have the headers of ConsID, ASRType (this is the type of solicitor), ASRDate To, ASRImportID (which is the that paricular relationship import ID associated wtih that record and Fundraiser) and the ASRlink (which is the import ID of that fundraiser). Once that is done you can, open the file (CVS) change the ASRType to whatever you use for Former and then add the Date To (the ending date of the Fundraiser). Then Import that back into the database using RE Import. You will be “Updating Existing Records” and choosing the Constituent ID for the stystem to identify the records.

SECOND STEP: You will then need to add the new fundraiser to the records you changed. If there is just one fundraiser repacing all those records, you can easily do a GLOBAL ADD of those particular records.

You can also do another import using the same headers from the previous import and change the DATE FROM and enter the Fundraiser's Import ID in the ASRlink and add a new ASRImport ID for the new relationship.

It can get tricky, so you need to be very careful and ALWAYS do a test before doing all the records. The header wording is what gets tricky, but just remember that hte ASRLink refers to the Import ID of the Fundraiser and the ASRImportID relates to the solictor relationship with the consituents.

I find using the Global Add easier for the 2nd step unless you are really comfortable with imports.

Below is the export I use to get that info, you may need to export more than one Fundraiser, if the records have mutiples of different Fundraisers.

BUT ALWAYS DO A TEST before doing all the of records.

I use the extra information below for if staff is going to have different fundraisers for each of the records and then they can mark a column of who the new Fundraiser will be and then you get their import ID. But like I said of all the records are going be the same fundraiser, just do the Global Add.
