Voiding a check

I am trying to void a one-time check and keep the message below:

To edit invoices or void a payment, you must make the vendor active. When voiding, note that reconciled transactions can't be voided; checks must be in the selected range; and posted transactions must exist in an open GL fiscal period.

There are no inactive vendors, it is not reconciled, and it is in an open period. The check is in Feb 2024 and is posted.

couple questions that deal with the later half of the message : what is the check date, what is the post date. FOr the void, what is the void date. Also are you voiding the check from the bank register, or using the Void Selected payments window? If using that window, what settings are you using in each field?

Check date is Feb 21, 2024, posting date is Feb 21, 2024 and I was using void and reversing date of Feb 21, 2024.

I am using the Void selected payments windows I tried both computer checks and manual checks as there is no one-time check option in the drop down.

I also don't see the bank register way to void? I do not have an option to void in the bank register.

In the bank register I only see options to view and set status to clear.

If it's a one-time check, you have to void it in Database view. I've never found a way to void these in Webview. See this post:

  • @Victoria Seward Thank you so much I will try it!

  • @Andrea Manion were you able to void the check? Last month I was able to void whatever I wanted but just in September I am having the same issue you described. Customer Service has tried to get me to open all periods but they obviously don't realize that is a STUPID idea and not a fix!!!

  • @Andrea Manion I think this issue is because One Time Payments don't have a vendor and Blackbaud hasn't put into place a way to void these transactions in NXT. Yet?
