March 2024 Monthly Challenge: Inspiration Station!

For the month of March, we are sharing sources of inspiration. You can share who made a big impact on you, inspired you, or helped you in your life or career. It could be an author, a panelist, or a great presentation or session you attended. It can be a book you've read, a podcast you've listened to, or a book you've read. Whatever inspires you! Share it in this thread and you'll receive March's exclusive badge!

    @Dana Burton
    Amen, Amen and Amen!!!!

  • @Crystal Bruce - I recently finished HBR's Top 10 must reads on managing yourself. The one about “Who's Got the Monkey” was my favorite and has totally changed the way my closest colleagues work together and communicate about projects. Harvard Biz always inspires.

    @Crystal Bruce, We have a time at the end of every staff meeting, which is once a month, where we share something positive that has happened in our lives. Sometimes it is just that we made it to work after a very difficult morning or time at home. Sometimes it is the future homeowners we work with or some kind act someone has done for us. Our future homeowners are always an inspiration as they are working hard to make the homeownership dream come true. Habitat homeownership is almost another job. And the way they juggle their children's schedules, their own jobs, and maybe even their own school time as well as the demands of our program show us what hard work can do for a person's life, spirit and soul. And they also do so much for those around them.

  • @Crystal Bruce Be motivated inspires me. My kids are my biggest motivators everything I do, I do for them to make their life better.

  • @Crystal Bruce for me it is the neighbors that we get to support every day as well as the volunteers that support them as well as us! It really takes a village to do what we do! It lifts my heart to see the community coming out to support each other.

  • @Crystal Bruce I am inspired by my first boss, Dante Mattioni, at my first position at a nonprofit organization.

  • @Crystal Bruce My biggest inspiration has always been my big brother, George DiBello! Outside of family, a big source of inspiration for me is Rotary International. Rotarians come together to be of service in their communities and around the world. I joined my local club in 2016 and continue to be inspired every day by the amazing good being done by Rotary and similar service organizations! ?

  • @Crystal Bruce I am continually inspired by all the many people who have gone before me and done the hard work to build foundations on which I travel, work, live, thrive, and lay another layer for those beyond me. From my great grandmother who was the first female student to run her college newspaper and yearbook, to everyone working and fighting today for Womxn, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other minoritized people. May each of us go from strength to strength.

  • @Crystal Bruce what inspires me is my yoga instructor's calm and generous spirit. Even when is overwhelmed with running her own business she still makes time for all her yoga “students”. She always has a smile and love in her heart for all. I try to emulate that caring and loving nature when I am having a tough or stressful day.
