Import - individual relationships - issue with IRImpID
Hi All,
I am trying to import spouse relationships into RE. Everyone has their own records already.
I was following the instructions from this article.
Below you can see how my import file looks like.
When I try the import, all records become excluded from the import, in the report it says that my respective IRImpIDs do not exist.
When I tried to remove this field from the import, it warned me that this field is required.
Actually both records's import ID are already included in the import file (ImportID & IRLink), and I really can't wrap my head around what this IRImdID is and how to use it. I looked at this explanation, but did not help me unfortunately.
Can you please help me figuring this out? I'll be really grateful, thank you in advance!

I can't see your imageBut I imagine your problem is the import setting.
You are using individual relationship import. If the spouse are not already related, then you are importing a new relationship between 2 constituent record. Don't use update, you should use import new

Oh, you are completely right, that was the issue! Thank you so so much!
May I ask you another question I was sitting on quite a lot, but could not figure out. It might as well be another quick fix for someone more experienced.
It's about updating constituent codes. When a record has multiple constituent codes, do you know how I can define which constituent code I'd like to modify (eg. the “date from”) ? It seems it randomly picks one to update, even if in the query I filtered for the constituent code I want to work with. Probably it needs to be fixed somewhere in the import settings too. Appreciated if you have the chance to share your idea on this one.

@Orsi Ptercs
you cannot update a constituent code by using on constituent id (or constituent import id) alone. As 1 constituent can have many constituent codes. Each constituent code is identifyable with its own constituent code import id, which if you want to update a single constituent code, you will need to use that to target the single constituent code to update.0 -

Oh, I see, makes sense again! Thank you so much for the guidance!0
