Hi everyone, Do you know if we can still importing budget using CSV file? If not, what is an alternative option? Thanks!!

    i don't know if you can still import budget using CSV (I think so, as we can still import journal entry using csv). But given Blackbaud's announcement that db view for FE will go away, it won't be long before you can't.

    so it's important to learn the alternative now, rather than when you are force to do it later on.

    @Katie Vu currently the Budget Creator plug in is just an excel file unlike the import tempalte in database view is a CSV. Unless they do a direct import like the Invoices import, that one uses excel and csv ( both you'd edit inside excel as well). But Alex is correct, I'd learn the plug in. I prefer it vs the old database methods, particularly for the fact you can edit any budget through it and upload the changes. The database view budgets had some limits on budget types that could be updated and caused extra work to do changes en mass on them.

    @Alex Wong and Katie Vu I have bene using this budget tool for several years now and I have also been using the one for Journal Entries. Both are easy once you get the hang of it.

    The plugin/excel addon is not that difficult to use, so I don't know if there is any instruction.

    You will need to go to the market place (I think you do have to be environment admin though) with the link I sent previously and connect the app and just try it out.

    @Angela Tuttle Yes, both the excel addon for FE is quick useful. The only issue I ran into was trying to create a Journal Entry that has 70K rows and took a long time to finish, when it is done, I did not get a success message, but checking FE JE, the new batch is there. I did waited a LONG time and left the excel open, just in case the process wasn't completely complete yet.

    I'm told this function is supposed to be added (eventually) to NXT. I also much prefer creating csv files offline and then uploading them. I added to the Ideabank too, no idea what will become of it.
