giving access only to certain reports in FE NXT

I looked through past discussions on this, but the latest was last year and I'm wondering if any progress has been made. I would like to give access to a user to only run certain reports, but no other FE NXT access(except to expense management) Anyone have any luck with this?

Something that changed is that ‘tags’ are in NXT. I have user set up a filter for their department tag so then they see only those reports. However, it is just a filter. But with restricted access to account, even if they ran a different report they still would only get what their access allows them to see.

@Cathi Christopher you can say specific report types, like balance sheets, or income statements in their security groups , or roles now in modern permissions. Then of course you'd give them their access to Expense Management. The key is just to make sure for their FENXT rights, give them a role that has access to the specific report types. You can't necessarily restrict any saved version of that report from a user, but that's where Sylvia Cook's answer on tags is helpful. They can at least use tags on the reports to hide things they dont' want to see. Also they can use favorites to make a favorites list, and only look at those reports. Again they'd only be able to see the report types you allow in their Security Role, so any other types would be hidden from them.

  • @Kevin Brazell Thank you. That's very helpful. Where in roles is it that you give access to report types?
