Is there a list available of differences to RE NXT database view vs RE7

I am looking for information on all the differences with RE NXT database view compared to RE7. This would be very useful as I can ensure that all our users are made of aware of these as we migrate. Thanks.

    your question is a little unclear, so let me answer it exactly as asked first:

    “differences with RE NXT database view vs RE7”
    RE NXT database view is 99.9% the same as RE7. The only difference is RE NXT database view removed the ability to manage code tables b/c RE NXT webview provided the same functionality.

    @Alex Wong thank you for your prompt response we appreciate it. The question was around the what is difference between database view on RENXT vs RE7, thus your comment about the codes is very useful. We also have notes on the new process flows for word and outlook, along with pivot tables being handled differently. There is also the question of attachments managed differently. Is there anything else along these lines that you are aware of. Many thanks in advance.

    @Phillipa Riddleston Be sure to check the link at the bottom of the KB that @Alex Wong sent Database-to-Web View Translations. The change in field names can be confusing when one user is using db terms and the other web view terms.

    I have a feeling you are talking about webview vs database view, not “database view on RENXT vs RE7”, which is very common when first starting with NXT.

    RENXT is a combination of webview (what you can access FULLY via web browser) and database view (what you access via Citrix Receiver/Workspace). RENXT database view is the same application as RE7 (with the only exception I mentioned about code table that is no longer available on RENXT database view).

    Your question sound more like you are trying to get the difference between RENXT webview vs RE7 (i.e. attachment on RENXT webview is VERY different than Media in database view/RE7). If that sounds about right, you can review the link I sent in my earlier post.

    @Phillipa Riddleston One other thing to consider is merging duplicates. When you are in RE NXT, you technically can merge in both places, but I have found it best to merge in webview first and then remove the inactive record in database view. This helps preserve the attachments in webview, but I also think it gives you a better opportunity to review the two records side by side.
