Batch Number is 0 / Zero.

Hello everyone:

Is anyone familiar with tracking down the details when batch number is displayed as zero - number?

Ex) 0-XXXX.

We suspect because it is unposted it's still being relegated to an internal batch used by Blackbaud or tied to the sub-ledger somehow, but would greatly appreciate knowing how to identify charges/issues before they're posted when that batch information is provided.

The reports provide a little more information - such as the sub-ledger - but do not provide anything else. This is tricky to work with, as the distributions we use do not allow for the invoice amounts to be searched in this way, and I'm struggling to produce a query that seems to be successful in finding matching distribution amounts as a workaround.

Anyone have any familiarity here?

@Tyler Lester, where are you seeing the batch number referenced for the specific transaction(s)? The ‘0’ batch# definitely indicates not yet posted but it's hard to help describe how to better locate what you're looking for without knowing what you're looking at to see that #0 batch – certain report? Activity record? etc. I know you said you're using a query to try to find so I'm hoping I might have some steps to help you narrow that down with the additional information.

@Tyler Lester Nikki is correct. If the batch number is 0 , then it's unpostede. I'm assuming you're seeing this on the General Ledger Report. That's why you see the module. It should also tell you the type of transaction such as unposted AP invoice as an example. But that's all the GL report can tell you. To see the details , I'd go to post subledgers, and validate for the period you're seeing on the GL report. That will show you all unposted activity ( provided it's not set to Do Not Post). This will show you the transaction information that would show up in the batch. And if you're ready you can post it from there as well.

That is a great way to approach that - I completely forgot about the posting validation report data. Thanks.
