Global Changing for campaign

Has NXT have a way to do a global change for the campaign? I went back to the orginal gift record for the recurring donations change the campaign for this year, but hope I don't have to do them idividually each year. If thier is a global change or a better way to not having to change the campaign would be very helpful.

You should be able to use Global change and GIft Import to change the recurring gift record, as long as this gift is not posted into FE.

@Adrian Pitts - I recommend importing amendments to update RGs. https://kb.blackbaud.com/knowledgebase/Article/46144

  • @Adrian Pitts I would ask “why” do you need to change the campaign on the recurring gift? If its to help reporting, etc, your gift date should help you with reporting. By changing the campaign record you may be impacting historical data and metrics.

If there is a need to track the change for reporting purposes, analytics ,etc. Then follow @Austen Brown's recommendation of using amendments.

However, if the issue is an error in data entry or then you can export out the impact records and re-import the data or global change as outlined by @Alex Wong.

Lots of ways to do things in RE, however understanding the downstream impacts are an important element to the decision making process.

In NXT the recurring gifts a that have a campaign that is not 2024 it will have a notification to be fixed before approval. I need to figure out a way to do a global change in NXT so that all are done at one time or change to a campaign that when the new year comes around it wil not give me a need to fix notification. I will be looking at Austen and Alex suggestion to see how to make this happen. Thank you for responding and your help.

  • @Adrian Pitts If the error message is: “The gift date range does not fall within the campaign range” then if you remove the end date on the campaign record you should no longer encounter an error message.
