Payment dates of bank drafts FENXT

New to FENXT and working in our 2nd period. In August I entered multiple bank drafts for July using a July post date. These bank drafts are not showing on the July Cash Register report. I was instructed to void the bank draft and reissue with a July date but that doesn't work because the system uses the current date on the draft when processing (no choice of date when processing). I do not have access to data base. Reference Knowledgebase article 203048. Any suggestions on a work-around to get these bank drafts into July financials on the register?

    I had the same problem, until someone showed me that the place to choose a payment date is hidden in “Printer Settings” at the very bottom of the screen. This is an illogical place to put this, for so many reasons, including:

    • Bank drafts don't require printing
    • Payment date is an ACCOUNTING function, not a printing or cosmetic function, and therefore should be right up there where the amount to be paid is
    • Payment date should never be hidden, and should not default to anything; rather, the user should be required to choose it each time, before a payment is saved.

    Thank you so much for the information you posted. Just so I understand before I begin voiding bank drafts and trying to process the payments again - are your instructions for FENXT or the data base? I don't remember seeing any choices after I press the process payments button. We are new to FENXT and were not set up to use the data base view so I am limited when a fix is needed.

    Finally found a way to fix my problem after many wasted hours. I was able to void the bank drafts in the register. I then went to Payables, Invoices, and clicked on … for each bank draft that needed to be processed. I had the option to Record Bank Draft. With the manual adjustment of dates they are now in the correct period/month. Thanks for your help and comments.

    I was referring to FE NXT. (Choices for payment date, and payment posting date, were always front & center in the database.) I'm glad you got everything sorted out!
