Community Groups: Is there a way to allow comments/discussions from parents?

I've set up Community Groups for our Parent Association. The only users are parents. Is there any way for them to be able to leave comments or have discussions through the community group?

    I believe that the only way to do this is by using a Topic and adding the “Discussion” element to the community group. You might also consider using the “News” element and enabling Comments.

    Ahhh.. I added myself as a Leader and there are a few more options now. I now have the ability to allow comments on ‘News’.

    I would love to add Discussions to the Topic tab as we use News to send notifications. However, I don't seem to have that option. Do you have any extra guidance on how I might be able to enable that feature? I've come up empty on searches.

    I misspoke! The “discussion” available in Topics isn't under elements/content types but rather up towards the top of the layout tab. Let me know if you're still not seeing it. I didn't think there was a way to turn off that specific option in topics, but I could be wrong!
