Walk a ton

Good Morning! Has anyone done a Walk a thon in RENXT before? We have the basic events but it only allows set fees…wondering if this is the best way? Or if we should create a new donation form? Just wondering if others have done this and what has worked best! thanks.

@Laura Marcinkowski at my last org, an all girls high school, we did something similar to a walk-a-thon. I believe I ended up creating a special donation form whose link was shared with families and we may have created a QR code for the newsletter as well. This way we were able to specify an appeal for it and know it was specific to the girls. We had the parents give their daughter's name so we knew who to credit. It certainly wasn't perfect because we still had some backend work to do with family houses that wasn't tracked in RE and tallying a total for donations by student but it was the first go-round.

We're in the midst of WAT 2024 at our high school right now! ? We don't run it as an event in RE. The faculty member who supervises our student board tracks student and total giving/class on a spreadsheet. I do the gift entry into RE DBV for donations over $25. We use Give Campus, with ‘sub forms’ for each class (see link). Once our expensive contract with GC ends next year, we will probably switch to a Blackbaud form/Just Giving forms that will directly integrate with RE. Send me a message if you have any questions.
