Can messages be set so all users get an email notification when a message is sent through the Blackbaud Message system??

    @Richard Pan Unfortunately, email notifications are opt-in and not opt-out. Each user would need to go to their settings and under Account Settings > Notifications, check the box next to Messages to allow either email or text (or both).

    We have advised our students and parents on the benefits of having this setting turned on, but I would estimate that less than 25% of them have actually taken our advice.

    I believe having these notifications defaulted to “on” is a feature request in the ideas bank, but I don't think there's been any movement on the item in years.

    @Shirley Wagar - Our school would not like these settings to be defaulted on! We make all new students - during their orientation - set these settings and tell them why they need to have these set to receive at the minimum and email. We have video for parents on how to set their settings up in this area. We push the video at the beginning of the year in our newsletter and other communications. If a student or parent complains about not receiving and they haven't set their settings to receive email - we send the video to them and suggest they set their setting. I believe the parent and student should have the opt-in choice.
