Payment Assist in Financial Edge NXT
I'm curious to hear from anyone who has started using Payment Assist for processing accounts payable in FE NXT. I'm currently using Paymerang for both Invoice Automation and Payment Automation.
If you've started using Payment Assist, what are the best features and what are the sticking points with the new system?

@Mary Huber I'd also like to hear this. We were told by Blackbaud there are about 300 clients using it. I don't want to be a test dummy for this:-)

@Sharelle Buyer, I'm not sure from where that 300 number came but we do not share our demographics publicly, so that wouldn't be accurate. We are currently in Limited Availability for Payment Assistant but it is powered by the trusted payments technology platform partner in this space, REPAY. @Nikki Baldwin I watched the session from bbcon. I also had a virtual informational call with Blackbaud shortly after bbcon and the agent I spoke with is the one that told me about the 300 clients. I am scheduled for a demo today through Blackbaud Learning.

@Sharelle Buyer, that number is referring to the REPAY customer base, not Payment Assistant – as a publicly traded company, we are not allowed to share Blackbaud demographics publicly.
Glad to hear you've been able to check into some of the resources and hope to have you joining and trying it out soon! Again, no cost to you with an established partner in this space means no risk to try Payment Assistant to process your payments, like many of our other EAP/LA customers are currently doing.

@Mary Huber I'm not sure if you still have this question or if you've started using payment assistant yet, but I'm happy to share our experience.
We've been using it for a few months now and, for the most part, are pretty happy with it. I really like how easy it is for me to just go in, select the vendors I want to pay, run and save the pre-payment report, and submit for approval.
The challenge we have had, with one vendor in particular, is an encrypted email going to the wrong person who was previously incorrectly listed as the contact and they weren't able to forward it to the correct person, or the vendor not knowing how to open an encrypted email to receive their payment. I found it to be a bit challenging and tedious to reach out to customer support to resolve our issue without a huge runaround, having to provide the same info multiple times, or receiving a quick solution.
Voiding a payment is super simple, but it isn't as easy to request a refund if you decide to pay a different way without having to reach out to customer support. The funds are deducted from your company's bank account after processing the payment.
If this isn't an issue for you, I'd say it's definitely worth trying. I'm able to pay our vendors in a more timely manner now rather than waiting for the people I need to be in the office to print and sign checks, especially now that the majority of our staff works from home most of the week.

Nicole,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Payment Assist! I think we are going to adopt the new program at the start of our fiscal year (July 1). I may test the waters between now and then.
We currently use Paymerang and like it for invoice automation but feel the payment automation side could use work.
