Add account number to every row on GL Detail reports

Does anyone else have to spend tons of time adding the GL number to each row of GL detail reports in order to create pivot tables and make the data useful? If so, please go to ideas, search for 845 and vote!! I did not submit this idea, but when I started to it located the existing idea.

I have voted for idea # 845 and I left this comment there

I used to get around this problem by exporting to CSV (not excel) in database view. It still required some formulas and copying and pasting special values, but I could at least get to a true data table. Blackbaud has disabled the export to CSV functionality in database view and it is not available in NXT. If you have subscribed to this idea, please also vote for ideas FENXT-I-2890 and FENXT-I-1119 as they address this same issue. If Blackbaud gets around to reviewing this, perhaps they could merge these ideas and address them.

@Sarah Searle, you should still have access to Export in database view – that functionality has not yet been removed. If you are having issues accessing Export, I would suggest creating a support case

I know the Export functionality still exists in DB. The functionality that has been removed is the ability to export a report to CSV. Since GL reports have disappeared from DB, I don't see how I could export one. Please advise if I'm missing something.

@Sarah Searle, ah thank you for clarifying! I know the reports in webview have the option to export to Excel and export Excel data, with the latter being easier to edit with but it still doesn't change that formatting to have the account number repeated like Amy is specifically asking about (re: the IdeaBank) and since the account is listed as a row and not a column, that's just going to cause the same amount of effort to format it.

A query could be a decent alternative here, as it could easily have the account listed on each line but would depend on what data filtering and formatting you want there, as well, since query can be challenging with formatting depending on your needs. A lot of times, though, query is the best answer for this type of GL detail we're wanting to see.
