Option to create an annual recurring payment processing from BBMS without creating a recurring gift setup

We create pledges in RE which may be payable over next five years in yearly instalments but count the total pledge amount (e.g. $25k) as commit revenue for the current fiscal year. Is it possible that we can automate the credit card processing in BBMS that applies to the existing pledge instead of creating a recurring gift set up of $5k e.g. This way we count the commit revenue of $25k for the current fiscal and we do not need to go back to the donor to get the cc information next year/s.

Previously we could set up the pledge in RE and the recurring in Authorize.net and then apply the payment to the pledge.

Any help will be appreciated.

    There isn't a way to recurringly charge a credit card with BBMS Virtual Terminal.

    BB is coming out with new feature (that was announced in BBcon and the recent PUB) that will allow setting up recurring chargees that applies to pledge, you will just have to wait out on this.

    If you can't wait, then custom automation can be done for this, but isn't easy to do and is best done through one of BB partners that will do custom automation for you.

    @Naila Asif Maybe I'm not understanding your question correctly. If you set up in RE you can set up payment schedule for annual installments. Currently, they will process with a batch run in db view for any payments due for specified time period. We have a number of pledges set up this way with annual payments. They are not set up as ‘recurring’ gifts.

    I do not know when the function will become available in RE NXT but it is certainly something that they should be bringing over - to process pledge payments from existing schedules.

    Meanwhile, I continue to process in db view.

    @JoAnn Strommen, yes, this is what I will do - process from db batch until this function of auto processing is available in NXT generated donation forms. Thanks for your help.

    @Naila Asif I'm confused as well. If you have the credit card information, why don't you want to recreate the pledge with the payment information? You can easily do this in the pledge in RE.

    It sounds like you want to the pledge on the books for the whole $25K but also have the payment schedule to reflect the 5 annual transactions. A recurring gift would only show 5 $5K payments. I don't think you need the virtual terminal, but just to set it up as a pledge with payment information. I'm not certain that this functionality works that way in NXT though, or how the NXT donation forms code recurring gifts with end dates.

    @Dariel Dixon, yes, this is what I am doing now add the cc information to the pledge and process it manually through db batch when next instalment is due. I wanted to have the option to auto process the next instalment by NXT. Now I know BB is working on it and this feature will be available in future, till then I have to do it the old conventional way.
