New applicant portal - Contact role
On the contact table in the new form, I found it helpful to learn that not only do you have to require the “Is Primary” checkbox that applicants will need to check, but the dropdown list for Contact Role will show every classification value that's in your database- so be prepared that external users will see internal information. I was told to rename values to “DNU” or “Do Not Use” since you can't hide them on the form, and to add “Select Primary” to the question so that applicants will choose that option.

@Jen Hammerstrom No problem. I'm really hoping others will do the same, as I spent hours testing to find many issues, submitted them to support as cases, and then was told they were known issues, in some cases have been known for months. It's a very frustrating process.

@Kayte Wisor - thank you for your work! This is a major problem for us. The solution you put won't work for us because we use the contact roles for communication and can't obliterate them in the classification tables. I'm not sure what we're going to do. This is a disaster. Oh and it was known probably in part because many people in the early adopters group had the issue.

And some number of applicants won't check the “is primary” box or select the correct role. You can force them to check “is primary”, but not sure what to do with the role.0 -
If helpful to anyone out there, the eventual fix I implemented for this issue is to delete the tables that include the “Is Primary” tickbox (Form field: Request Contact Table (bbgm_REQUEST_CONTACTS_TABLE)) and instead use the following:
Organization 01 Primary Contact Table (bbgm_ORG_CONTACTS_ROLE_72_TABLE)
Request 01 Primary Contact Table (bbgm_REQUEST_CONTACTS_ROLE_72_TABLE)
After our forms were live and I realized our records were not being updated with a new contact for the organization and request based on the new application, I edited the forms to include these contact tables rather than the ones that I originally was told to use.
